Following a two hour stand off where once again Staffsafe triggered our monitoring centre to an incident taking place in a well known betting shop. Our Emergency Response Operator, listened covertly to events taking place concerning staff in an armed hostage situation.
This gave our Emergency Response Operator the evidence needed to call the emergency services, for two hours we relayed live information which enabled them to delpoy the correct response. Police dispatched Officers to the scene and following a two-hour stand off officers arrested two suspects. Eye witnesses said they saw police officers bring out a deadly Samurai sword - about 4ft long and the suspects were detained.
Thanks to Staffsafe the conclusion of the incident meant that the staff inside the premises were able to leave uninjured but shaken.
