Robbed at knife point the sales assistant in one of our retail client's stores immediate triggered her distress alert, which meant our Emergency Response Operator was listening covertly within 10 seconds to the unfolding situation.

It quickly became apparent to our Monitoring Centre Operator that a robbery was taking place and the emergency services were contacted within 30 seconds, with information relayed as it was occurring.

Over a five minute period the robber gave the sales assistant repeated instructions as to what he required from her, all heard and recorded thanks to Staffsafe.

The Police charged a suspect with armed robbery. He changed his initial plea of not guilty 3 days before the trial and owned up to his actions. The reason for the plea change was solely down to the audio evidence we provided thanks to Staffsafe. His voice was clear as a bell. The perpetrator was issued with a 5.5 year sentence to run only after he had serviced a four year sentence for serious assault of which he had been convicted a month earlier.
